Presentation for Therapists - September 27, 2022

The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario protects the public by setting standards of competence and conduct that individuals must meet in order to be registered and practise.

This presentation will:

• cover the basics of self-regulation so that attendees will understand the benefits and obligations of being a regulated health professional
• provide a detailed explanation of the steps to apply for registration and ongoing competence requirements
• highlight some of the current work of the College related to risk-assessment; better incorporating the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion; enhancing the Quality Assurance Program; and, updating standards of practice

Attendees are encouraged to come prepared to engage in a Q & A session, since the goal is for everyone to leave the session well-informed about the responsibilities and benefits of psychotherapy regulation in Ontario.
