Call for Proposals

Calgary Family Therapy Centre 50th Anniversary Celebration and Conference

Dear Friends,

We are very pleased to announce that proposals are now being accepted (brief presentations, papers, symposia, and/or posters) for the Calgary Family Therapy Centre 50th Anniversary Celebration and Conference scheduled for August 18-19, 2023. This upcoming family therapy conference with more than 18 confirmed speakers is expected to be inspiring and memorable, hosting about 200 participants in the vibrant city of Calgary alongside the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains. The deadline for submitting a proposal is March 15th, 2023.

The theme of the conference is Bringing Forth Generativities within Relational Disquiet”. It will focus on different kinds and sources of relational disquiet and how family therapy practitioners might enable their potential generativities to promote healing and wellness, including the kinds of collaboration that adds liveliness to life. We especially welcome your reports on how relational disquiet was transformed into generativity. So please submit proposals about the disquiets you have embraced in your work and the creative ways you’ve managed to befriend such disquiet to open space for relational preferences.

Pre-conference workshops will also take place from August 16 – 17, 2023. These will be facilitated by colleagues such as John Burnham, Jeff Chang, David Denborough, Emily Doyle, David Epston, Laura Fruggeri, Joaquin Gaete Silva, Carol Halliwell, Kay Ingamells, Jack Lannamann, Stephen Madigan, Shannon McIntosh, Sheila McNamee, Monica Mercuri, David Nylund, Loudeen Parsons, Alison Roper-Hall, Inés Sametband, Monica Sesma, Kiwi Tamasese, Lance Taylor, Karl Tomm, Charles Waldegrave, Cheryl White, and Tamara Wilson.

Using this poster, please help us distribute information about the conference with your colleagues, staff, students, and collaborators. We would appreciate learning from you and your generative work with families.
