2SLGBTQQIA+ Panel member biographies 

Chi-Chun Lin is an assistant professor in the Master of Marriage and Family Therapy program in the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg. His academic and clinical interests mainly focus on mental health issues (e.g., anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and suicidality) and sexual health issues (e.g., sexual debut, STIs, and sexual relationships) among marginalized groups (e.g., 2SLGBTQ+, immigrants, and people living with HIV).


Heather Craig is a sexuality professional, relational therapist (RP) and opinionated human.  With a background that mixes academia with community organizing and lived experience, their work aims to start practical conversations while honouring the complexity of the world around them.  She's passionate about self-exploration, transformative learning, communication, and figuring out how to do better.



Dwight Thompson is a registered social worker and marriage and family therapist who sees individuals and couples in Ottawa, Ontario.  Dwight directs the veterans program at Ottawa Psychotherapy Services.  




Emma Howard is a second-year student in the MFRT program at the University of Guelph. A lover of local food and agriculture, dancing, and beekeeping, Emma feels most free when on their bike or deeply engrossed in a good book. Emma is passionate about working collaboratively and intentionally with clients and is excited to build connection that allows the humanness of others to unfold.



Kevin VanDerZwet Stafford is the Co-Director of the Maplewoods Centre and is passionate about clinical training, regulatory practice and better understanding neurodiversity. He lives in Guelph with his husband Bryan and their four children.  




Carlie Pagens is a clinical supervisor and instructor at the University of Guelph and a PhD student at the University of Saskatchewan researching the wellbeing of therapists. Carlie is particularly passionate about working at the intersections of spirituality and sexuality and supporting queer folx with religious backgrounds.



Al Cannon is a trumpet player and orchestral conductor, music educator, woodworker, guinea pig wrangler, and trans man starting the MRFT program at the University of Guelph in May 2025. In his music educator role, Al has worked with hundreds of students and families. As a future therapist he particularly looks forward to assisting folks who face challenges with their families of origin.
